Rutina Diaria ( Daily Routine)

Buenos Días estudiantes,

I hope all of you are doing fine

Today we are going to learn how to describe about daily routine in Spanish.

But before we start talking about retina diaria, we first need to know reflexive verbs.

I hope you remember reflexive verb because we discussed it last year.

Anyways, let's take a quick recap

Few Instructions

1. Note down  the work in your register on a regular basis.
2. Notify me about  your presence in the class  as soon as you join, in the comment section. Just  write " Good Morning" along with your name .
3. AS ALREADY MENTIONED,YOU CAN USE ANY NOTEBOOK AVAILABLE AND SUBMIT SEPARATELY ONCE THE SCHOOL REOPENS.
4. Take your Spanish Register
5.Our handwriting reflects a lot about us. It will be awesome if you use good presentation and cursive hand writing
6. Make a column on the right hand side, if you need to do any rough work
7.Write today's date.

Learning Outcome

After the completion of this topic I will learn :

a) Learn reflexive verb and reflexive pronouns
b) Write my own daily routine in spanish

REFLEXIVE VERBS

A verb is reflexive when the subject and the object are the same.

I wash myself.
subject: I
verb: wash
object: myself

Since the subject and object are the same, the verb is reflexive.
I wash the car.
subject: I
verb: wash
object: car
Since the subject and object are different, the verb is not reflexive.

When a verb is reflexive, the infinitive ends in “se.”
lavar
to wash (non-reflexive)

lavarse
to wash oneself (reflexive)

rascar
to scratch (non-reflexive)

rascarse
to scratch oneself (reflexive)

To learn to conjugate reflexive verbs, you need to learn a different set of pronouns called “reflexive pronouns.” These pronouns are positioned before the verb, while the ending “se” is dropped and the verb is conjugated normally.

The reflexive pronouns are not subject pronouns; rather they are object pronouns.

me (myself)
te (yourself)
se (himself, herself, yourself)
nos (ourselves)
os (yourselves)
se (themselves, yourselves)

The purpose of the reflexive object pronouns is to show that the action of the verb remains with the subject.

Juan se lava la cara.
Juan washes his face. (reflexive)

Juan lava su carro. (non-reflexive)
Juan washes his car.

Now, lets watch this video to understand how to use reflexive verb in daily routine

Now all of you open your notebook and note down the sample Rutina Diaria

MI RUTINA DIARIA

Me despierto muy temprano por la mañana, normalmente alrededor de las seis. Me levanto en seguida y voy al baño.
[ Translation : I wake up very early in the morning, usually around six. I get up right away and go to the bathroom. ]
Me ducho, me cepillo los dientes, me seco el pelo con el secador y me peino. Luego, vuelvo a mi habitación y me visto.
A las 7 menos cuarto desayuno con mi hermana“.

[ Translation : I take a shower, brush my teeth, blow-dry my hair and comb my hair. Then I go back to my room and get dressed. At a quarter to 7 am I have breakfast with my sister.]
A las 7 salgo de casa y cojo el taxi o el autobús para ir al mi escuela.  Esto es muy importante en mi rutina diaria: ¡no llegar tarde!
[ Tanslation : At 7 I leave home and take a taxi or bus to go to my school. This is very important in my daily routine: don't be late!
“Las clases empiezan a las 7:40 y terminan a la una y media de la tarde“.
[Translation : "Classes start at 7:40 and end at half past one in the afternoon." ]

Saliendo de mi escuela cojo el taxi o el autobús para ir a mi casa. Tan pronto como llego a casa, almuerzo e inmediatamente después me pongo a hacer la tarea.
[Translation : Leaving my school I take the taxi or the bus to go home. As soon as I get home, I have lunch and immediately afterwards I start to do my homework.

A las cinco salgo de casa y voy al centro, donde me encuentro con mis amigos. Nos paramos en un café, tomamos café, charlamos un rato y luego damos un paseo por las calles del centro. Y esta… es la mejor parte de mi rutina diaria.

[Translation : At five I leave home and go downtown, where I meet my friends. We stop at a café, have coffee, chat for a while and then take a walk through the streets of the center. And this ... is the best part of my daily routine.]
